T-SHIRT, BADGE & LOGO POLICY

PURPOSE

The GO-DRN Blue T-shirt and badge is your uniform when responding to disaster with GO-DRN. As a GO-DRN volunteer, when you wear your shirt and badge, you are representing your church, the network of churches and ultimately the Lord, to our community and those impacted by disaster. Therefore, this guideline is meant to help maintain the integrity of this organization through volunteers who represent it. (Only volunteers who have completed the required GO-DRN Orientation and who have not committed violent crimes against children and/or are a registered sex offender are eligible to purchase a blue GO-DRN deployment T-shirt. Badges are given after completion of Orientation and certain advanced trainings.)

WHEN TO WEAR BLUE T-SHIRT & BADGE

  • Responding to an “official” GO-DRN deployment led by GO-DRN leadership
  • At GO-DRN gatherings, trainings and events
  • Volunteering with GO-DRN
  • Promoting GO-DRN at your local church

WHAT IS NOT APPROVED

  • Wearing your blue shirt to self-deploy with your church, ministry or friends but not under official GO-DRN leadership guidance and/or GO-DRN pre-approved deployment sites
  • Using GO-DRN logos or material without GO-DRN staff approval (e.g. making your own GO-DRN shirt/signs)
  • Attending other “events” before/after serving with GO-DRN. GO-DRN recommends that if all possible, that an GO-DRN volunteer changes shirts
  • Wearing your blue shirt leisurely, during personal activities or running errands

RESTRICTIONS ON SHARING/ALTERING YOUR T-SHIRT OR BADGE

Your blue GO-DRN T-shirt and badge were assigned to you upon the successful completion of a sex offender check, verification of no violent crimes against children and Orientation training. It is very important that they are not shared or given to anyone unless they have also completed GO-DRN Orientation and are official GO-DRN volunteers. To maintain integrity of the shirt and GO-DRN representation in the field, your blue shirt is to remain intact, free of any cuttings or alterations.

NO LONGER USE YOUR T-SHIRT OR BADGE

Should you choose to no longer be involved with GO-DRN as a volunteer, please shred your blue t-shirt and throw your t-shirt and badge away, or return them to GO-DRN Headquarters. Please DO NOT donate them or give them to others unless they are GO-DRN badged volunteers. If your GO-DRN T-shirt and badge is returned in good condition, you may qualify for a $10.00 reimbursement.

GO-DRN BRAND, LOGO & TAGLINE RESTRICTIONS

The GO-DRN brand, logo, name, acronym and tagline are trademarked and a copyright to GO-DRN. Any use without our knowledge or consent would be considered copyright infringement. This includes apparel, field shirts, badges, images, logos and any item that displays or uses the GO-DRN logo, name or is branded with our identity. By protecting the use of the GO-DRN brand, we are protecting our voice and mission for the Church in Greater Orlando. For use of GO-DRN’s logo, brand or tagline and/or questions about the proper usage of them or if you have questions about wearing your shirt/badge, contact us.

Please note that not following the guidelines listed in this document may result in having your blue t-shirt and badge revoked, therefore preventing you from being deployed with GO-DRN during a disaster response. Thank you for helping us maintain the integrity of this organization by honoring these guidelines.

An active, empowered network of prepared churches, bringing hope into crisis through the transforming power of Jesus Christ to every life and community we serve.
